HOBOmission


Hobofest is an all-day free music festival "at the tracks" celebrating RR culture, and the Hobo spirit on Labor Day weekend. It also serves as a re-vitalization of the dormant Depot Corridor in Saranac Lake.

National Geographic; Hobofest, an art fete for the funky fringe

The same waters that enticed Albert Einstein and Mark Twain to kick back now inspire a young art brigade and the sort of quirky local characters who bring a new pulse to the lakeside. In September the crafty Hobofest is a daylong music, food, and art fete for the funky fringe. It’s a summertime counterpart to Saranac Lake’s famed Winter Carnival. “Are we growing new local characters?” Trudeau asks with a glimmer in her eye. “Possibly. We’ll have to wait and see.”
